How this triage works, what it is not, and where the dates come from.
What this check does
EU AI Act Check asks an SMB six short questions: how you use AI, which tools, what people paste into them, who sees the output, whether it is for work, and whether there is an EU link. You then see your role, what to do this month, and what is not needed yet.
The default path is for teams that use ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini at work. They answer six short questions and stop. The builder path — you build, sell, or deeply adapt AI — is one you choose yourself. That path keeps the longer steps on role, Art. 25, prohibited uses, and applications.
The check runs in the browser. An account stores the checks you save. A paid Register plan syncs the company register. The register is a list of systems plus a literacy measures log (Art. 4). That is a record of measures, not a certificate. Art. 26(2), on human oversight, stays separate when a use looks heavy.
Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 entered into force on 27 July 2026. Since then Art. 4 asks for measures, not a fixed level. Last reviewed: 16 October 2026.
